PRED FORTE prednisone eye drops, can cause glaucoma!!!?

My eye doctor specialist (forget what they're called) but she's as far up the ladder as you can get in eye world of doctors, has prescribed me this. I have to put it in my eyes at least 4 times day. I should have never read the back of that pamphlet, Knowing I have OCD. It said prolonged use can cause glaucoma and optic nerve damage. How long would that be considered? I Just put them in normally, as I would any eye drops. Is there a certain way? I find sometimes it stings when I add them. Not too bad. I can tolerate it, but there is a stinging. It only last a few minutes after applying them.
