As the afterlife is key to Christian belief, Why didn't God tell Moses about hell?

It seems there is no mention of hell in the 5 books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, Moses climbed the Mountain and talked with God about the most important messages to give to God's children. I can't understand why he waited until Jesus came along to start talking about Hell and damnation.
